課程概述 |
Oral Training II is designed to review and expand on the skills taught in Oral Training I. (See Oral Training I Course Description.) Therefore, continued practice in speaking for face-to-face communication will be emphasized, including further training in pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and the correct social uses of language. Additionally, Oral Training II will give students the opportunity to practice more formal presentations, such as individual speeches as well as group discussion, team research reports, debates, or in-class role plays. Though individual Oral Training II sections may differ in specific assignments, they will all aspire to assist students in preparing for the use of English in professional, not only personal, settings. |

Course Requirements:
The Oral Training classes are more skills-based than knowledge-based. Accordingly, student attendance and participation are of the highest importance. Skills, especially higher-level skills, cannot be learned or improved without guided practice. Failure to attend class punctually, consistently, and prepared may result in the failing of this course.
Students will be given homework assignments for both individual and team presentations. These assignments must be completed before their performance dates. Failure to complete individual or team assignments may result in the failing of this course.
Textbooks may or may not be assigned. For those classes using textbooks, students are expected to purchase required materials as assigned. A notebook for course lectures and other information is highly advised for every student.
